Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2021 Telescópico Garnacha · Garnacha Peluda · Mazuela was produced with grapes from old vines in conversion to organic farming in the villages of Alpartir and Morata on limestone and slate soils. It fermented separately, with 80% full clusters (on average, the Cariñena is destemmed and has a softer vinification) in open-top vats with indigenous yeasts and foot treading and a 40-day maceration, then matured in 500-liter barrels and 2,500- and 3,000-liter foudres for four months. It has moderate ripeness and alcohol (13.5%) coupled with very good freshness and acidity. 2021 had a longer cycle, and the grapes developed more aromas and nuances. It is elegant and floral, with more flavors, and the wine is tastier and more umami, with abundant, finer tannins. This is a more serious wine, with citrus freshness. Superb. 21,216 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2023.

Description
Frontonio Telescópico is a red wine made from a combination of indigenous varieties: Garnacha ( 46%), Garnacha Peluda ( 28%), Mazuela (24%) and a touch of Macabeo (2%). The grapes come from old vineyards, located in the villages of Alpartir and Morata, on slate and limestone soils.
Winemaking
Frontonio Telescópico is made in a traditional way, with a fermentation that includes 80% of whole bunches and a maceration of 40 days. The wine is then aged for four months in 500-litre barrels and large 2,500- and 3,000-litre foudres, giving it exceptional complexity and balance. Its production process follows a sustainable approach and conversion to organic farming. The result is a wine with moderate alcohol content (13.5%) and remarkable freshness and acidity.
Taste
Frontonio Telescópico stands out for its elegant and floral aromatic profile, with notes of cherry, rose petals and wild oregano. On the palate, it is fresh and direct, with a fleshy texture and energetic but well-integrated tannins. The citrus freshness adds liveliness, while the balance between fruit and floral notes makes it particularly flavoursome. The wine has a remarkable persistence and there is a delicate harmony between its structure and its umami flavour.
