Description
Xabre wine is a red wine produced in the Ribeira Sacra denomination of origin. An area that, beyond its geography, is a living testimony of history and tradition. This region, located between the provinces of Ourense and Lugo, extends majestically on both sides of the river Sil, from Quiroga to Os Peares, and continues its course along the river Miño until it reaches Portomarín. Its name, which means "the sacred riverbank", is no coincidence. Ribeira Sacra is a tribute to the deep spirituality that characterises it, evidenced by the abundance of monasteries, hermitages and monasteries that were erected on its lands from the 6th century onwards.

Xabre is a blend of the native red varieties of Ríbeira Sacra, carefully harvested at their optimum ripening stage in the Quiroga-Bibei sub-area. This sub-area, specifically in the municipality of Manzaneda, is located at high altitude and is famous for its terraced vineyards. The soils of this region are a rich amalgam of textures and minerals: from sandy with an abundance of granite to clay and slate. All this, under a cool, Atlantic climate that gives the wine its unique characteristics.
Taste
The Xabre wine has a medium cherry red colour, adorned with a garnet rim. On the nose it displays a good aromatic intensity, where notes of red fruit and ripe black fruit intertwine, complemented with floral and balsamic nuances. On the palate it is surprisingly fresh and flavoursome, evoking forest fruits at the right point of ripeness. Its tannin, polished and elegant, accompanies a medium body that glides smoothly over the palate.
